First Post

Hi, I'm Andrea! I am a 15 year old girl from England and I love media studies. I have decided to write this blog as writing/journalism practice. This is my first blog so I honestly have no idea what I'm doing but I hope it's reasonably enjoyable to read. 

My blog will be about everything recent in my life (hence the name). I am hoping to talk about some of my opinions as well as places I've recently been, books I've read, music I've listened to and films I've watched. Eventually I would like to interview other people about their opinions on social matters and grow this blog into something really cool. 

I firmly believe that the best way to get to know someone's personality is through their favourite media texts, so here are a few of mine:

artists/bands- Arctic Monkeys, Laufey, Taylor Swift, TV Girl, The Beatles, Olivia Rodrigo

books- 'Goodnight Tokyo' Atsuhiro Yoshida, 'If We Were Villains' ML Rio, 'The Perks of being a Wallflower' Stephen Chbosky

magazine- Cosmopolitan (I find it more useful and entertaining for the average person rather than Vogue)

films (letterboxd 4)- Nowhere Boy 2009 , The Goonies 1985, Beauty and the Beast 2017, Gnomeo and Juliet 2011 (these often change)

musicals- Hamilton, West Side Story, Wicked, Annie, Grease

disney (my childhood favourites)- The Aristocats, Mary Poppins, Coco, Luca, Zootopia, Frozen

As I grow up I would like to either continue performing or pursue a career in journalism. My hopes and dreams for the future are still quite abstract however it does all revolve around one thing: London. This is my favourite place in the world -despite it being so cold, busy and dangerous- I find peace in London, more than I find even laying in my own bed at home.

I hope that this wasn't too boring or dull. I plan on writing proper, full length articles/posts soon as I already have some ideas!
